Two Olympic Games. Three Noosa Triathlon titles. Two decades inside elite endurance sport — still going.
Courtney Atkinson competed for Australia in triathlon at the Beijing 2008 and London 2012 Olympic Games, and won the Noosa Triathlon three times across a career spent training under coaches on both sides of the sport — from running under Pat Clohessy to triathlon squads with Cole Stewart and Brett Sutton.
Not much has changed. He's still chasing the competitive streak he can't switch off — training publicly through two full Gold Coast Marathon build-ups, documented week by week on the show, and finishing the 2026 race in 2:42:10.
He co-hosts In The Beginning with Liam Flanagan, recorded on the Gold Coast, Queensland.
Hear more from Courtney directly in EP 83 — “The Interview”: Olympics, regrets, Red Bull and the mindset behind it all, and follow the full build-up to race day in the Gold Coast Marathon guide.
